Pine River Veterinary Clinic has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinarian to join our thriving mixed animal practice in Richland, WI! This position offers a six-figure salary plus production, a $250,000 bonus package, paid family leave, and student loan support. This practice is approximately 20% large animal and 80% companion animal.

Pine River Veterinary Clinic is a 3-doctor hospital that is about 20% large animal. Our mission is to work as a team to provide routine and emergency service to our small and large animal clients that is both high quality and compassionate. We place particular emphasis on preventative health care and client education. Each member of our knowledgeable, experienced staff will go above and beyond to provide exceptional, compassionate care.
About the Hospital
The practice provides wellness visits, emergency services, dental care, both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, acupuncture, veterinary orthopedic manipulation, as well as boarding and grooming for small animals. Large animal services are all ambulatory and include herd health programs in addition to medical and surgical procedures. The majority of the large animal work is with cattle. The combined practice is housed in a spacious facility with electronic medical records, in-house lab, digital x-ray, tonometer, laser, and gas anesthesia with monitors, and an experienced support staff team.

Responsibilities
- Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
- Treat and dress wounds
- Perform surgery on animals
- Test for and vaccinate against diseases
- Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
- Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
- Prescribe medication
- Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
- Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
- Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
- Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
- Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
- Strong fondness and understanding of animals
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of animal behavior
- Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research, and surgery of animals
